If you set Ellis up
These steps are for the Caregiver, on the phone they set Ellis up with.
- Open Ellis.
- On the home screen, tap the gear beside the greeting to open Settings.
- Under Your data, tap Delete account.
- Tap Delete my account, then Yes, delete it.
This deletes your account and your household with everything in it: the details of the person you look after, their medicines, pharmacies, prescribers, doctor, appointments and insurance details, the people they call and the shops they use, every request, and the records and summaries of calls. If you signed in with Apple, Ellis also revokes its Sign in with Apple access. This cannot be undone.
Ellis stops working on the other person’s phone too, because the household it was tied to is gone.
If Ellis was set up for you
These steps are for the person Ellis was set up for, on their own phone.
- Open Ellis.
- Tap the gear at the top of the home screen to open Settings.
- Under Your data, tap Delete account.
- Tap Delete my account, then Yes, delete it.
This removes Ellis’s sign-in from your phone and your phone’s link to the household, and Ellis stops working on it.
The details the Caregiver entered about you, such as your medicines and appointments, are held in the Caregiver’s account and stay there. To have them deleted, ask the Caregiver to delete their account, or email us.
Taking Ellis off a phone without deleting anything
The Caregiver can take Ellis off the other person’s phone at any time, for example if it is lost: in Settings, tap “Remove Ellis from their phone”. It stops working there straight away, and nothing is deleted. To set it up again, send a new link from the home screen.
Asking by email
If you cannot use the app, email hello@askellis.care and ask us to delete your account. Write from the email address the account uses, so we can tell the request is yours. If you signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email address, say so, and we will find another way to confirm the account is yours.
If you are the person being looked after and want the details held about you deleted, you can ask us too. We will confirm who you are, then delete them.
What is not deleted straight away
- Backups. Copies in our database provider’s backups are removed on that provider’s backup schedule.
- Your Apple subscription. Deleting an account does not cancel it, and Ellis cannot cancel it for you. On the iPhone that bought it, open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
- ElevenLabs’ records. ElevenLabs, the voice service that handles conversations and calls for Ellis, keeps its own record of them in Ellis’s account with ElevenLabs. Ask us by email and we will ask ElevenLabs to delete it.
- Providers’ logs. Our other providers keep their own logs of the work they did for us, such as a call carried or an email sent, for as long as their own policies set.
What Ellis collects, and how long each part is kept, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
